Born December 29, 1940, in Glasgow, IA, Earnestine Lucile was the daughter of Lloyd Earnest and Doris Lucile (Williamson) Septer.  She graduated, valedictorian, from Birmingham High School in 1958.  On September 1, 1968, she married Wayne E. Harvey at the First Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant.  He preceded her in death on January 9, 2004.

Earnestine worked at the Dream Drive-In as a car hop, as a presser at Ruby Cleaners, as a clerk at Panther Rexall Drug, and as a receptionist at Dr. I.M. Deal’s optometry office.  For 35 years she was employed as a statistical clerk in medical records at the Mental Health Institute.

Knowing the Lord at a young age, Earnestine lived her life in service to Him.  She was especially active with children’s ministry, spending 46 years teaching Sunday School, directing Children’s Christmas programs, leading Bible School, sharing her puppet ministry, and serving in the Awana program. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, and after her health declined she joined Salem Congregational Church near her home. Earnestine was also a member of the Business Professional Women.  She enjoyed painting by number. Her greatest love and priority was spending time with family
